Christmas Gift Ideas

Hello!

Welcome to another day of blogmas! Today I'm going to be writing about Christmas gift ideas that you can create or buy last minute for friends and family! For my family we tend to get joined presents for each other between us. However if you are considering what to buy for your mum/dad, body shop sell many good value products for both men and women that you could buy for them. For my mum I bought perfume and a body lotion and for my dad, I bought shampoo and deodorants.

If you want to make a present for friends you have know a while or are very close, I would recommend a scrap book of all your memories. They are fun to make, and although they tale a bit of time to prepare, they make a lovely gift!

You will need different colour papers, scissors, glue, black scrapbooks (you can get these is Ryman or local stationary stores) and silver and gold pens to write on the black paper.

I began by brainstorming old memories and future events that will happen and then ordered them and found any relevant photos. Then using pencil (which you can faintly see on black paper) I roughly planned what I would put on each page. Next, I took my silver pen and wrote titles for each page and memory on the side tabs of each page. Then, with the assistance of Pinterest, I developed creative ways to present my memory's and left blank pages for future memories such as school  trips or holidays etc. I finished by creating a Huge letter (the friends initial) on the front and decorating around it (eg buttons or butterflies).

If you want to get extra gifts to the scrap book or cheaper Christmas/winter related alternatives, you could visit Primark or boots and buy gifts such as blankets to keep cosy in the winter or a hot water bottle to keep warm in the evenings. Also, if you have friends that are into beauty you could buy them nail varnish or simply get them some cosy warm socks!

I hope this post has given you a few Ideas, there are many presents that I have not been able to post recently because they will be presents for this year and some of my friends might see them or spoilers of what they are getting! If you would like more Ideas feel free to e-mail or message me at:

Blogmas Update & My Trip to Hairspray the Musical

Hello!

Just a quick update! I'm sorry for not posting for a week I have had a few stressful exams and over the weekend I took the time to go Christmas shopping for family and friends and as a result I had no time to blog! What I am intending on doing to catch up is posting 2 blog posts each day until next Monday to catch up!

Today I will be talking to you all about Hairspray the Musical that I watched about a month ago. It was one of my all time favourite films and has now possibly become one of my top 5 musicals (Wicked being my favourite). The cast featured the incredibly talented Layton Williams, who you may have seen appear on Bad Education on BBC3 alongside Jack Whitehall. The cast also included
Brenda Edwards who sang Big Blonde and Beautiful and did it justice!

Admittedly, to begin with I was enjoying it but was unsure about the addition of new songs and changing the songs from the original film. However, the actors made it work and It was incredible ; I had a lovely day!

Performing at the Adelphi Theatre - Blogmas Day 7!

Hello!
So there was no blog posts this weekend because I was preparing and rehearsing for a performance I did on Sunday at the Adelphi Theatre! Today I'm going to tell you about my weekend and how I prepared for my weekend!

On Saturday morning myself and my two friends from drama went down to our local shopping centre to grab food, leaving presents for some of our teachers and last minute things such as makeup wipes etc. We then had pizza before going to our drama club. It was the last week before we broke up for the Christmas holidays so we were preparing for our show and doing other christmas based activities! We finished in the evening and went back to my house to pack our bags for the next day. In my bag I packed: Makeup, costume, tracks, leggings, jazz shoes, food, sweets, chocolate, drinks.

Sunday began with an early start at 6am and we got the coach up to London and we went to a small cafe before getting into the theatre. I had a strawberry milkshake. We then went inside the theatre and ran through our tech rehearsal. A few of us had microphones put on to project sound for solos so the audience could hear sufficiently.

We then went to our dressing rooms after watching Act 2's tech rehearsal and began to do hail and makeup for our dress run. I curled my hair, tied it half up half down and wore an oversized brown top for the character that I was playing (Anastasia). After finishing our dress rehearsal we prepared for the final show. It was one of the best experiences and I love performing in London. I didn't like performing on this particular stage as much as I did at Her Majesty's however it was a close second and as I said was a great day!

I'm sorry this was a rambly post and I can't put photo's up because some people may not want to appear on my blog, but I wanted to ensure I continued with Blogmas after my two day break. Over the next week I have to prepare for a french controlled assessment so I will definitely post for each Blogmas day however they may not get posted until Thursday And Friday! Leave a comment if you have ever performed at the Adelphi Theatre and what you thought of it!

Cutting my hair- Blogmas day 4!

Hello!

So today I haven't been well so I thought I would give you a quick update post of today so that I was still posting Blogmas updates!
Today I went to cut my hair and I think in total I cut around 6.5/7 inches off! I've been wanting to cut my hair for a while now so that it would be healthy and also so that it wouldn't get in my way and in my face. I think that shorter hair will be so much easier to maintain and control! To care for my hair I use argon oils made by John Freida it protects it against heat and hair brush damage.

Before                                                                                                       After

(I'm sorry you can't see my face in either of them, like I said, I was ill so I didn't want to take an awful photo of myself and the before image was taken to show the length of my hair!) I'm sorry this post was short but if you have any hair related questions feel free to e-mail me or leave a comment!

November favourites - Blogmas Day 3!

 Hello!
So first of all I apologise for posting this post a few days late! I thought it would be nice to include it as part of Blogmas because many of the products are Christmas related. Today I'm going to talk about my November favourites!

The first thing I have been loving since September but particularly this month, was the Lush 'Tea Tree' Toner. It is perfect to clear skin and keep it hydrated. It also smells incredible! It contains ingredients such as grapefruit water and Juniperberry water.

The next two things I have been loving are bath bombs! I'm particularly obsessed with Lush products because they smell amazing and the bath bomb on the left is from Lush. It is called 'So White'. It smells of fresh apples and if you like baths and sweet smelling products this is the perfect bath bomb to use. It is only available near Christmas time though because it is part of their exclusive Christmas range. As well as this, when I visited Winchester Christmas markets (check previous blog post) I came across a stall that sold baths bombs that were hand made and contained no artificial colouring.

The next two products I have been loving are the Toni&Guy Shampoo and the John Freida Conditioner. I previously stuck to only using John Freida shampoo and conditioner because it makes my hair soft and I love the smell. However, every so often I like to change the shampoo I use to avoid getting dry hair so I tried Toni&Guy. I still don't think you can beat the John Freida shampoo however the combination that I have used this month has worked well because the Toni&Guy cleans my hair and is an alternative shampoo however, the John Freida conditioner will make my hair softer and smell really nice.

The next product is one of my favourites! I have been waiting a whole year for this to be released and finally in November it came out in the shops! I love the apple scented Shimmer Mist from The Body Shop. It is honestly one of the best products and body sprays I have used. It smells of sweet apples and the scent admittedly is not for everyone but I happen to love it!

My Final product that I have been loving this month is the Clinique moisture surge. It can be used for the eyes so refresh/ wake them up in the evening or morning. I apply this a few times per week (if applied to often I find it can cause irritation to the eyes or loose efficiency) under my eyes where my skin feels dry.

My favourite film last month was either Anastasia the Disney film because I had to watch it for a drama performance I am doing but ended up loving it! Another film I have loved is The Holiday (yes I watch Christmas films in September, October, November and December) It is one of my all time favourite Christmas films it has a brilliant story line and prepares me and gets me in a Christmas mood!

Finally, my favourite TV show this month without a doubt has been 'I'm A Celeb' I think previous years have been better but I continue to look forward to watching the show and I'm rooting for Vicky to win because she is hilarious and also brilliant when she was on Geordie Shore!

I hope you are enjoying Blogmas so far! Let me know in the comments any suggestions for posts and any of your November Favourites! If you have done a November Favourites Blog post make sure to link it down below :)!

Winchester Christmas Market - Blogmas Day 2!

Hello!
Today is day two of Blogmas so I decided to get you all in the Christmas spirit, I would talk about a marked that I visited last weekend! After a week packed full of mocks, it was the perfect way to de-stress and forget about how badly I had done in my exams!

If it isn't apparent already, the markets are in Winchester (about an hour from where I live) and there are so many different market stalls and everyday shops (such as Accesorize) to visit. The first stall I visited was a Christmas light themed shopped full of Christmas starts of all different colours that you could use to put over you light to decorate your room! I bought a large red star and I can't wait to put it up to decorate my room :)

I then went to the arts and crafts stalls and although I didn't find anything that I personally liked, it was filled with so many wonderful hand crafted things that could make perfect Christmas gifts for your friends and family! I next visited the most amazing smelling soap and candle shop called Heyland Whittle. The candles smelt amazing and I believe they would make remarkable Christmas gifts for family members that you don't know who to buy for! The smells weren't too strong so it wasn't overwhelming when you walked inside. I later found another stall where they sold bath bombs that were hand made by a man and his wife with no artificial chemicals added so I bought some (unfortunately I did not take a photo of the stall but I might include the product in my November favourites as I visited the stall in November!)

After shopping, we walked around the food stalls that sold chocolate, Spanish donuts and Russian candy floss! There was also a stall that handmade chocolate and moulded it into the shape of different tools. As well as this, they also painted (using edible paint) fine details of the tool to make them look realistic!

The final stall I Visited was a place that sold hand made cotton socks! I bought a pair and i now live in them! they are the cosiest and comfiest things i have ever bought!

Like I mentioned earlier there are also various other shops in the area so afterwards I visited Jack Wills, Accesorize, River Island etc...
We finished the day with a Costa before returning home!
If you live near Winchester I recommend that you visit it because it is a beautiful area and it was decorated so nicely in preparation for Christmas!
